Echonomist

Born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece, EcHonomist, or Petros, has become a cornerstone of Greece's electronic music scene, while swiftly expanding his international fanbase through releases on well-regarded labels like Innervisions, Blue Shadow, Watergate, Multinotes, Afterlife, TAU, and Kompak among others.

Petros' journey into music began at a young age when his family gifted him a basic synthesizer (GEM) and hired a music teacher to instruct him in traditional Greek music. Contrary to his family's initial plan, Petros found himself more fascinated by creating unique sounds with his small harmonium and recording his first tracks.

Eventually, Petros completed his first downtempo album and launched his inaugural music project called "IνΦο". His band, comprising live musicians and a vocalist, explored a broad spectrum of electronic downtempo music. They released three studio albums until 2009, primarily gaining recognition in the Greek electronic music scene.

As Petros continued to explore new sounds and genres, he ventured into DJing and became captivated by the expansive range of electronic dance music. He found particular inspiration from American artists and labels like Maurizio, Carl Craig, Black Dog, Underground Resistance, and Echocord. This exploration marked the inception of his solo project, Echonomist, and led to the release of his first tracks on labels such as Resopal, Upon You Records, Time Has Changed, and Dessous Recordings.

Echonomist's passion for musical creativity is more robust today than ever. He has evolved into a professional DJ, producer, and live performer. His style ranges from underground Tech House to Techno, but he always upholds a high standard of quality.
