Mind Against

Mind Against, the Berlin-based duo of Italian origin, is the musical brainchild of brothers Alessandro and Federico Fognini. 

Drawing from the diverse roots of IDM, house, and techno, their music embodies an innovative blend of these genres.

Their unique approach to techno is characterized by a smooth, emotionally resonant style that elevates club experiences to memorable peaks. A significant part of their distinctive sound stems from their fusion of the psychedelic hooks from 1980s soundtracks with modern dance music's emphasis on sound design.

The duo's journey into the global music scene began in 2012 with their first single 'Cagliostro,' released on the breakthrough label, Life and Death. This initial success paved the way for crucial collaborations with Tale Of Us and Somne, and compilation appearances on Sven Vath’s Cocoon and Recondite’s label Plangent. Throughout their career, Mind Against have showcased their talent through numerous remixes, enhancing the work of artists such as Art Department, Róisín Murphy, and Green Velvet. More recent contributions include their remixes for SHDW & Obscure Shape and Hakimonu, which led to a remix EP of Hakimonu's "Insular Realms."

Their chemistry as brothers translates into the dynamism of their joint DJ sets, where intricate mixing and refined selection take listeners on a unique journey. Their revered Essential Mix from 2016 stands testament to this.

With a growing discography featuring standout releases on Tale Of Us' Afterlife label and Scuba's Hotflush, Mind Against continue to build their global reputation. T
