The Return | Anyma back in Afterlife Tulum 2025

This New Year’s season, Tulum welcomes back one of the most groundbreaking audiovisual artists;  Anyma. As the solo project of Matteo Milleri, one half of the legendary duo Tale of Us, Anyma has earned a reputation for creating immersive experiences that combine music with stunning visual art. Once more, the visual and musical shows come hand in hand at Tulum.

Anyone who has witnessed Anyma's shows live format knows that his performances are more than just music. They’re a dialogue between sound and visuals, real and surreal. Using the latest in extended reality, Anyma's animations are crafted by a team of CGI experts to tell a story.

His work explores themes of human connection, technology, and emotion, often making the crowd feel inside a digital dreamscape. In previous editions, Anyma's presentations included anthropomorphic dolls, elevated humans, colors and abstract visions, and futuristic connections that looked like something between a cable and a root covering the robot/dolls.

Afterlife Tulum 2025 witnessed lasers dancing forming clouds in the sky, and the screens partnered with the music to bring life to the presentations and reference visuals to previous years. During Metro, by Kevin the Vries, the animation showed meteors, referencing a meteor shower that was happening during that same song on Afterlife Miami 2023.

The Afterlife festivals are a brand Tale of Us has been growing for a while, adding to their presentations the sets of other DJs of their label and a surreal aesthetic environment. Afterlife Tulum in particular has always been a place for world-class performances, and Anyma's previous sets in Tulum have become the stuff of legend.
