Manfredi Romano a.k.a Dj Tennis is the founder and A&R of Life and Death, a music label that focuses on electronic music. 

However, Romano's background is in tour-managing punk bands and organizing leftfield music events. He studied computer science at the University of Pisa before forming DAZE, which was Italy's first booking agency solely devoted to electronic music.

Romano shifted his focus in 2010, establishing himself as a DJ and performer under the name Tennis. As a DJ, he has a talent for creating intimacy even in large crowds. As a producer, Romano draws on his relationships with post-rock luminaries like Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Tortoise, and Fugazi to create intricately-synthesized electronic music.

In addition to his music career, Romano is also a fine chef and restaurant owner. He splits his time between Miami and Amsterdam, where he enjoys riding bicycles, collecting vintage action figures, and building his vinyl record collection, which now numbers over eleven-thousand strong.
